Museum of the CAF Airbase, GA — Col. Malcolm Lelliott et.al.

The Warbird Museum of the CAF Airbase, Georgia is located in Peachtree City, GA.   CAF is the Commemorative Air Force organization (formerly Confederate Air Force); they restore, display, and fly historic military aircraft to educate and inspire visitors.

The restoration group, currently led by Col. Malcolm Lelliott, has been working on restoration of a 1941 C-3 since 2015.  .  They started with boxes of donated parts, found missing parts, and replaced worn out parts such as the turning motor with one they acquired with parts from another Link Trainer.  They even built a replica of the instructor’s desk.

Col. Jim Arnold turns, climbs, and banks their C-3. Photo by Col. Charles Burcher.

Their C-3 is now flying, and they intend to display their trainer to visitors of the Dixie Wing.
